Communication in the office is a highly important thing. You need your employees to be communicating well with one another, to keep your company progressing. Having said that, I’ve got a few solutions to help you improve office communications, fast:
Create Group Chats
Nowadays, instant messaging apps are a great way to communicate with others. Bearing that in mind, there’s a great way for your business to implement this in the office. Pick an instant messenger like Whatsapp or Facebook Messenger, and create groups. With group chats, you have an easy way for employees to communicate amongst each other. Also, the groups you make can be specific to your company too. For example, create a group chat for your sales team, and your admin team, etc. Then, they can talk to each other, and it improves their collaborative work! Plus, if you need to speak with a certain team, you can post a message in their group chat. You won’t have to move from your desk, and you’ll be speaking to numerous people at once. It’s amazing how much of an impact this can have on your office productivity too. No longer will people waste time by getting out of their seat and walking down the corridor just to ask someone a question. Group chats are super easy to set up, and you’ll benefit a lot from them.
Purchase A Phone System
With all the modern technology around us, it’s easy to forget that telephones are a great method of communication. And, with a phone system, you’ve got a great way of improving office communications. It’s simple, everyone has a phone on their desk, and they’ll have specific extension codes. You just have to put in the code of the person you want to talk to, and their phone will ring. It’s brilliant for people in large offices that need to speak to someone in a different room, on a different floor. Plus, it improves communication for clients calling the business to. They’ll call your main number, and your receptionist will be able to forward their call to the person they’re after. It’s quick, easy, and makes a load of difference.
Hold Weekly Meetings
It’s important to remember that not all communication should be digital or over the phone. You need to reserve some time to talk with your employee’s face to face. The best way to do this is by holding weekly meetings. My suggestion is to hold a meeting on Monday morning, at the start of every week. This will allow you to talk about the company goals for the upcoming week, and look back on the week before. It gets everyone together, and you open up a chance for people to communicate. You can ask questions and let people voice their opinions. Of course, you might think weekly meetings is too much. So, hold them monthly instead!
Implement all three of these solutions and you’ll soon see an instant impact. Everyone will work better together, and, as a result, productivity will rise too!
